Doctor Who ended the series with nearly 4.5 million viewers last night (December 5), according to overnight figures.
The episode 'Hell Bent' - which saw the Doctor and Clara say their final farewell - averaged 4.47 million (20%) on BBC One.
Strictly Come Dancing continued to dominate The X Factor, appealing to 10.4 million (45.1%) compared to 6.53 million (29.3%) for the ITV show. The X Factor added another 245k (1.1%) on +1.
Elsewhere on BBC One, Casualty drew 3.81 million (17.2%) and Match of the Day entertained 3.21 million (22.6%).
ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! earned 7.34 million (32.8%) for its double elimination.
Meanwhile, BBC Two's snooker coverage of the UK Championship managed 1 million (4.6%) across the night.
On the multichannels, 9pm's The Bridge attracted 774k (3.5%) on BBC Four.
