England vs France friendly seen by 6.3m on ITV

Over 6 million people tuned in to watch a defiant football match between England and France on Tuesday night.

An average overnight audience of 6.32m (28.3%) watched the international friendly at Wembley on ITV, just four days after the Paris attacks. Prince William was in attendance at the game, which saw England win 2-0.

Elsewhere, BBC One's finale of Stellan Skarsgård's River brought in 2.69m (11.9%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's MasterChef: The Professionals appealed to 2.59m (11.2%) at 8pm, followed by The Great Pottery Throw Down with 1.99m (8.8%) at 9pm and Mock the Week with 1.19m (6.5%) at 10pm.

On Channel 4, Doctor in Your House interested 1.24m (5.4%) at 8pm (170k/0.8% on +1), while 24 Hours in A&E gathered 1.80m (8.0%) at 9pm (407k/2.5%). Catastrophe amused 603k (3.3%) at 10pm (137k/1.5%).

Channel 5's Loch Lomond attracted 1.11m (4.8%) at 8pm, followed by Eamonn & Ruth: How the Other Half Live with 896k (3.9%) at 9pm.

On Sky1, Arrow's latest episode thrilled 502k (2.2%), and Karl Pilkington's The Moaning of Life tickled 255k (1.1%) at 9pm. MTV's Geordie Shore entertained 400k (2.5%) at 10pm.
