Strictly Come Dancing continued its Saturday dominance, averaging more than 9 million viewers once again, according to overnight figures.
The BBC One series was watched by 9.17 million (44.2%) from 6.30pm, beating The X Factor by nearly 3 million.
Simon Cowell's singing competition on ITV improved from Halloween's series low, rising to 6.29 million (30.2%) with a further 261k (1.3%) on +1.
Doctor Who also saw an increase on BBC One, appealing to 4.22 million (20.4%) from 8pm. Later on, the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance 2015 drew 5.39 million (26.7%).
On BBC Two, a Dad's Army repeat entertained 1.77 million (8.6%) and QI XL interested 922k (4.4%).
ITV's The Chase logged 2.75 million (13%) before The X Factor, and The Jonathan Ross Show attracted 2.65 million (16%) from 10.10pm.
Over on Channel 5, Football League Tonight was caught by 374k (1.8%).
