Strictly Come Dancing once again topped Sunday night's ratings, but its ITV rival The X Factor also enjoyed a positive evening.
BBC One's celebrity competition jumped by around 800,000 viewers from last week to an average overnight viewership of 8.85 million (35.9%) at 7.15pm.
The X Factor averaged 7.43m (31.1%) at 7pm (376k/1.6% on +1), up 300k from last week. However, it peaked at around 8.45pm with 8.39m (34.4%) after Strictly ended.
During the overlap, Strictly was top with 9.01m (36.0%) at around 7.45pm, with X Factor bringing in 6.99m (28.0%).
Later on ITV, Downton Abbey's '#ShockingMoment' saw it rise by around 500k from last week to 7.51m (33.0%) at 9pm (458k/3.1%).
Earlier on BBC One, Countryfile appealed to 6.91m (34.4%) at 6.30pm, while Antiques Roadshow interested 5.99m (25.2%) at 8pm. From Darkness continued with 3.24m (14.2%) at 9pm.
Elsewhere, Homeland thrilled 906k (4.0%) at 9pm (187k/1.2%) on Channel 4, while TOWIE entertained 504k (3.2%) at 10pm on ITVBe.
