Doc Martin keeps hold of Monday ratings with 5.8m

Doc Martin remained the top attraction on Monday nights outside soaps, rising by around 400,000 viewers from last week.

The ITV drama starring Martin Clunes averaged 5.86 million (28.9%) at 9pm in the overnight ratings, with a further 356k (2.5%) watching on +1. Earlier, Britain As Seen on ITV appealed to 2.52m (11.8%) at 8pm.

On BBC One, Rugby and the Brain intrigued 1.74m (8.1%) at 8.30pm, followed by All Change at Longleat with 2.83m (14.0%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's University Challenge quizzed 2.91m (13.7%) at 8pm, while Only Connect confused 2.19m (10.3%) at 8.30pm. Michael Mosley's Countdown to Life fascinated 1.56m (7.7%) at 9pm.

On Channel 4, Jamie's Super Food brought in 1.24m (5.9%) at 8pm (182k/0.9% on +1), followed by Food Unwrapped with 1.49m (7.0%) at 8.30pm (138k/0.7%) and The Catch with 824k (4.1%) at 9pm (171k/1.2%).

Channel 5's Police Interceptors thrilled 897k (4.2%) at 8pm, followed by the latest Celebrity Big Brother with 1.32m (6.5%) at 9pm (204k/1.4%).

On BBC Three, Girls Can Code concluded with 129k (0.6%) at 9pm.
