True Detective season 2 ends with 85,000 viewers on Monday

True Detective continued to drop in the ratings for its second season finale, according to overnight figures for Monday (August 10).

The divisive drama concluded with 85k (0.8%) at 9pm on Sky Atlantic, while Made in Chelsea: Los Angeles kicked off on E4 with 375k (1.9%) in the same timeslot.

BBC One's Fake Britain topped the night outside of the soaps with 2.98m (15.5%) at 7.30pm, while a repeat of Sherlock entertained with 2.70m (13.2%) at 8.30pm.

On BBC Two, Great British Menu continued with 1.30m (6.8%) at 7.30pm, before University Challenge exercised the minds of 2.79m (13.5%) at 8pm, and Only Connect appealed to 2.04m (9.6%) at 8.30pm. Life in Squares dropped to 760k (3.8%) for its final episode at 9pm.

ITV's Travel Guides dipped to 2.35m (11.8%) at 9pm (134k/0.9% on +1), while Vet School interested 2.31m (11.1%) earlier at 8pm (193k/1.0%).

Over on Channel 4, Flying to the Ends of the Earth averaged 1.02m (4.9%) at 8pm (123k/0.6%), before 24 Hours in Police Custody brought in 1.58m (7.9%) at 9pm (156k/1.0%), and Brits Behind Bars was seen by 1.11m (7.5%) at 10pm (152k/1.9%).

Channel 5's Stop! Roadworks Ahead interested 806k (3.8%) at 8pm (81k/0.4%), and Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild gathered 1.48m (7.4%) at 9pm (92k/0.6%). Under the Dome followed with 419k (2.8%) at 10pm (78k/1.0%).
