Love Island final rises to series high on Wednesday night

Love Island rose to a series high for its live final on Wednesday (July 15), according to overnight figures.

The final episode of the romantic reality series pulled in 684k (3.6%) at 9pm on ITV2, with a further 53,000 viewers (0.4%) tuning in on +1.

ITV documentary 100 Year Old Drivers Ride Again was the most watched programme outside of the soaps, with 3.40m (18.9%) watching at 8pm (262k/1.3% on +1). Secret Life of Twins followed with 2.25m (11.5%) at 9pm (213k/1.4%).

On BBC One, Don't Tell The Bride entertained 2.54m (14.1%) at 8pm, while The Interceptor continued with 2.23m (11.5%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's Trust Me, I'm A Doctor appealed to 2.03m (11.3%) at 8pm, before Britain's Forgotten Slave Owners intrigued 1.56m (8.0%) at 9pm, and QI challenged 980k (5.6%) at 10pm. Newsnight was up next with 690k (5.5%) at 10.30pm.

The Autistic Gardener brought in 870k (4.9%) for Channel 4 at 8pm (206k/1.1%), while 24 Hours in A&E averaged 2.15m (11.1%) at 9pm (211k/1.3%).

Channel 5's Sick Note Skivers Exposed interested 1.09m (6.1%) at 8pm (85k/0.4%), before Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords shocked 1.37m (7.0%) at 9pm (111k/0.7%).

The penultimate night of Big Brother brought in 1.10m (6.8%) at 10pm (79k/0.9%).

Sky1's Strike Back: Legacy continued with 203k (1.0%) at 9pm.
