'Rookies' tops Monday night with 3.2 million viewers

Rookies was the most-watched programme outside of soaps on Monday (July 13), according to overnight figures.

ITV's new police documentary was watched by 3.20m (16.1%) at 9pm, while a further 105k (0.7%) tuned in on +1. Earlier, Vet School continued with 2.30m (10.9%) at 8pm (128k/0.6% on +1).

On BBC One, How Safe Is Your House? intrigued 2.83m (14.2%) at 7.30pm, before NHS: The Perfect Storm gathered 2.20m (10.7%) at 8.30pm, and Mrs Brown's Boys amused 2.78m (14.0%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's Antiques Road Trip interested 1.00m (5.2%) at 7pm, while University Challenge exercised the minds of 2.41m (11.5%) at 8pm. Only Connect was seen by 2.02m (9.5%) at 8.30pm, and Laurence Llewelyn Bowen: Cracking China averaged 1.31m (6.6%) at 9pm. Hair followed with 720k (4.2%) at 10pm.

How to Get a Council House brought in 1.60m (8.0%) for Channel 4 at 9pm (290k/1.9%), while Inside the Ku Klux Klan fascinated 1.74m (11.4%) at 10pm (183k/2.4%).

On Channel 5, Big Brother continued with 1.12m (5.6%) at 9pm (116k/0.7%), while Under the Dome thrilled 491k (3.1%) at 10pm (35k/0.4%).

ITV2's Love Island neared its conclusion with 455k (2.9%) at 9pm, while True Detective brought in 112k (0.6%) for Sky Atlantic in the same timeslot.
