Sheridan Smith's Black Work concluded with strong ratings on Sunday (July 5), according to overnight data.

ITV's crime drama wrapped up its three-episode arc with 5.14m (23.5%) at 9pm, while a further 313k (1.9%) tuned in on +1. The series lost just short of 700,000 viewers from its first to its last episode.

Earlier, Catchphrase entertained 2.44m (13.5%) at 7.15pm (125k/0.6% on +1), while Surprise Surprise averaged 3.36m (17.0%) at 8pm (123k/0.6%).

However, it was BBC One's Countryfile that was Sunday night's most-watched programme, bringing in 5.48m (30.7%) at 7pm. Fake or Fortune? interested 4.85m (24.5%) at 8pm, while 7/7 drama A Song for Jenny moved 3.12m (14.8%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, John Carter gathered 1.41m (8.6%) at 6pm, before a repeat of Top Gear was watched by 1.86m (9.4%) at 8pm, and Odyssey appealed to 1.09m (5.0%) at 9pm.

Channel 4's Amazing Spaces: Shed of the Year continued with 1.29m (6.5%) at 8pm (261k/1.2%), while Humans thrilled 2.30m (10.5%) at 9pm (337k/2.1%).

Big Brother rose to 982k (4.5%) on Channel 5 at 9pm, with a further 145k (0.9%) watching an hour later on +1.

Meanwhile, ITV's Love Island continued with 498k (2.3%) at 9pm.
