Game of Thrones thrills 1.1m on Sky Atlantic on Monday

Game of Thrones was a ratings hit for Sky Atlantic yet again on Monday (June 8), according to overnight figures.

The penultimate episode of the fantasy drama's fifth season enthralled 1.09m (5.1%) at 9pm, as dramatic events unfolded for characters including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi's ITV sitcom Vicious lost more than 700,000 viewers from last week's opening episode, bringing in 2.26m (10.6%) at 9pm (90k/0.5% on +1).

Elsewhere on the channel, Johnny Kingdom's Wild Exmoor interested 2.60m (12.7%) at 8pm (141k/0.7%), while Off Their Rockers continued with 1.47m (6.9%) at 9.30pm (77k/0.6%).

On BBC One, Nigel Slater: Eating Together averaged 2.78m (14.3%) at 7.30pm, before GM Food: Cultivating Fear intrigued 1.68m (8.0%) at 8.30pm, and The Met: Policing London gathered 3.35m (15.8%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's The Wonder of Dogs appealed to 1.08m (5.8%) at 7pm, and Springwatch followed with 2.42m (11.7%) at 8pm. Japan: Earth's Enchanted Island was seen by 2.59m (12.2%), while Episodes continued with 840k (4.9%) at 10pm.

Channel 4's Dispatches aired to 930k (4.6%) at 8pm (67k/0.3%), before Gadget Man interested 800k (3.8%) at 8.30pm (71k/0.3%), and Kevin McCloud's Escape to the Wild transfixed 1.88m (8.9%) at 9pm (358k/1.3%). Man Down followed with 750k (4.4%) at 10pm (170k/1.9%).

Over on Channel 5, 799k (3.8%) checked out Inside Manchester's Midland Hotel, while Big Brother stayed above the million mark with 1.05m (6.7%) at 10pm (36k/0.5%).

ITV2's Love Island remained pretty consistent with its second episode ratings of 425k (2.0%) at 9pm.

On E4, the final ever episode of Revenge entertained 203k (1.0%) at 8pm, while Made in Chelsea dipped to 373k (1.8%) at 9pm.
