Brit Awards 2015 enjoys ratings boost with 5.4m on Wednesday

The Brit Awards 2015 were up from last year's all-time low, according to overnight figures for Wednesday (February 25).

The annual ceremony averaged 5.25m (24.1%) between 8pm and 10.15pm on ITV, with a further 422k (2.3%) tuning in on +1.

However, The Great Comic Relief Bake Off remained Wednesday's most popular show with 5.97m (26.8%) at 8pm. The People's Strictly launched with 3.59m (15.7%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Wanted in Paradise gathered 920k (4.6%) at 7pm, before Suffragettes Forever interested 810k (3.6%) at 8pm, and Wolf Hall's finale brought in 2.33m (10.2%) at 9pm. Up The Women continued with 460k (2.4%) at 10pm.

On Channel 4, The Restoration Man appealed to 620k (2.8%) at 8pm (193k/0.8%), while 24 Hours in A&E brought in 1.58m (6.9%) at 9pm (280k/1.7%). Junk Food Kids: Who's to Blame? captivated 700k (4.2%) at 10pm (107k/1.3%).

GPs: Behind Closed Doors averaged 1.07m (4.8%) for Channel 5 at 8pm (52k/0.2%), before Jack the Ripper attracted 736k (3.2%) at 9pm (130k/0.8%), and Autopsy entertained 511k at 10pm (25k/0.5%).
