Midsomer Murders beaten by live FA Cup football on Wednesday

Match of the Day topped the ratings on Wednesday evening, overnight data reveals.

BBC One's coverage of live FA Cup football scored an average audience of 4.49 million (20.1%) at 7.30pm.

ITV's Midsomer Murders dipped by 500,000 viewers from last week's opener to 4.29m (18.8%) at 8pm, with an added 334k (1.7%) on +1.

On BBC Two, Alaska: Earth's Frozen Kingdom interested 2.35m (10.7%) at 8pm, followed by Wolf Hall's latest episode with 2.61m (11.1%) at 9pm. Up the Women amused 812k (4.7%) at 10pm.

Channel 4's The Jump continued with 1.84m (8.4%) at 8pm (212k/0.9%), while 24 Hours in A&E intrigued 1.86m (7.9%) at 9pm (367k/2.4%). Bodyshockers fascinated 972k (6.3%) at 10pm (173k/2.1%).

On Channel 5, GPs: Behind Closed Doors appealed to 1.21m (5.5%) at 8pm (116k/0.5%), followed by Celebrity Big Brother with 2.34m (9.9%) at 9pm (321k/2.0%). Age Gap Love brought in 866k (5.6%) at 10pm.
