National Television Awards 2015 attracts 6.3m on Wednesday

The 2015 National Television Awards achieved its best ratings in four years, overnight data reveals.

The Dermot O'Leary-hosted event attracted an average audience of 6.30 million (28.1%) from 7.30pm (318,000/1.5% on +1).

This is up by around 400k viewers from last year, and is its best score since 2011's 6.5m viewership.

On BBC One, Pets - Wild at Heart gathered 3.49m (15.7%) at 8pm, followed by Crimewatch with 2.42m (10.2%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's Winterwatch appealed to 2.09m (9.4%) at 8pm, while new comedy Up the Women was seen by 1.22m (6.8%) at 10pm.

New Damian Lewis drama Wolf Hall was BBC Two's biggest drama launch since 2005, bringing in 3.89m (16.5%) at 9pm.

On Channel 4, Restoration Man interested 1.36m (6.1%) at 8pm (198k/0.8%), while 24 Hours in A&E brought in 1.34m (5.6%) at 9pm (370k/0.8%). Bodyshockers fascinated 1.12m (6.9%) at 10pm (156k/2.2%).

Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother continued with 1.82m (7.6%) at 9pm (467k/2.8%), followed by Suspects with 511k (3.1%) at 10pm (100k/1.2%).
