Later, Our Zoo launched to 5.07m (23.2%) at 9pm, while Fake Britain had brought in 4.01m (22.6%) at 7.30pm.
ITVs coverage of England's win over Norway scored 4.37m (20.8%) on average from 7.30pm.
On BBC Two, Young Vets attracted 1.46m (8.2%) at 7pm, followed by Hotel India with 1.22m (5.3%) at 8pm and Horizon with 967,000 (4.4%) at 9pm.
Channel 4's Double Your House for Half the Money appealed to 833k (3.6%) at 8pm (168k/0.8% on +1), while Grand Designs interested 1.68m (7.7%) at 9pm (399k/2.7%). The Gypsy Matchmaker was seen by 983k (6.5%) at 10pm (156k/1.9%).
On Channel 5, Countdown to Murder brought in 924k (4.0%) at 8pm (185k/0.8%), followed by Celebrity Big Brother with 1.62m (7.4%) at 9pm (157k/1.0%) and Wentworth Prison with 940k (6.2%).
