Commonwealth Games coverage averages 3 million on BBC One

BBC One's primetime coverage of the Commonwealth Games averaged more than 3 million viewers last night (July 26), according to overnight figures.

The Glasgow multi-sport event appealed to 3.06m (19.5%) between 7pm and 10.10pm.

On BBC Two, Proms Extra was watched by 456k (2.8%) from 8.25pm, with The Men Who Made Us Spend taking 562k (3.3%) afterwards from 9.10pm.

ITV game show Tipping Point entertained 2.6m (16.9%). It was followed by an airing of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, which grabbed 1.36m (8.6%).

Channel 4 showed Simon Pegg movie Paul, managing 1.3m (8%) from 9pm. Earlier, Grand Designs was seen by 725k (4.6%).

The latest Big Brother instalment on Channel 5 pulled in 812k (4.8%) in the 9pm hour, with 334k (3.5%) catching Bit on the Side from 11pm. In between, Autopsy: The Last Hours Of had 506k (3.2%).

On the multichannels, Foyle's War was watched by 919k (5.7%) on ITV3 from 9pm.
