The Honourable Woman premiered to an audience of more than 2.1 million viewers last night (July 3), according to overnight figures.
The spy thriller starring Maggie Gyllenhaal attracted 2.13m (10.6%) in the 9pm hour.
Mock the Week followed with 1.72m (9.7%), before Newsnight had 518k (4%).
On BBC One, Celebrity MasterChef served 3.57m (17.7%) from 9pm.
In the same timeslot, ITV's Inside Asprey: Luxury by Royal Appointment took 2.52m (12.5%).
On Channel 4, George Clarke's Amazing Spaces drew 1.3m (6.5%), and Embarrassing Bodies was watched by 1m (5%).
Big Brother managed 924k (4.6%) on Channel 5 from 9pm. Earlier, Child Soldiers of WW2 was seen by 659k (3.3%) from 8pm.
On the multichannels, The Big Bang Theory entertained 1.08m (5.4%) on E4 from 8pm. How I Met Your Mother followed with 728k (3.7%).
Glee had 114k (0.6%) on Sky1 from 9pm.
