Friday's Big Brother eviction watched by more than 1 million

More than 1 million people tuned in to watch the second Big Brother live eviction on Friday evening (June 20).

An average audience of 1.09 million (5.6%) saw Pauline get voted out with 79% of the public vote. 524K stuck around to watch Big Brother's Bit on the Side immediately after.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup continued with France vs Switzerland between 7.30pm and 10.15pm on ITV. The game, which France won 5-2, was seen by an average audience of 3.34 million (17.9%).

The late night game between Ecuador and Honduras was seen by 1.4 million (15.2%) from 10.35pm on the same channel.

After picking up 3.91 million (34.5%) for the 5pm game between Italy and Costa Rica, BBC One's evening continued with 3.82 million (19.4%) for Celebrity Masterchef at 8.30pm.

With guests such as Cheryl Cole and John Bishop, The Graham Norton Show secured an evening high of 4.29 million viewers (30.3%) at 10.35pm.

It was followed by 1.02 million (10.5%) for the penultimate episode of Uncle at 11.20pm.

Over on BBC Two, Antiques Road Trip was seen by 1.57 million (9.7%) at 7pm, followed by 1.35 million (7.3%) for Sea City at 8pm.

Gardeners' World entertained 1.56 million (8.2%) at 8.30pm, followed by 800k (4%) for Seven Wonders of Brazil at 9pm.

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown was Channel 4's highest-rated show of the evening, pulling in 1.18 million (5.9%) at 9pm.

It was preceded by Celebrity Fifteen to One, which drew 830k (4.4%) at 8pm. The first episode in the new series of Friday Night Dinner was seen 990k (5.5%) at 10pm.
