England vs Ecuador World Cup friendly watched by 6.3m on ITV

England's football World Cup friendly against Ecuador averaged more than 6.3 million viewers last night (June 4), according to overnight figures.

The match - which saw Wayne Rooney and Rickie Lambert score in a 2-2 draw - took 6.35m (29.2%) from 7.30pm on ITV, peaking around 9.30pm with 8.27m (35.1%).

On BBC One, Watchdog managed 3.36m (15.2%) in the 8pm hour. Del Boys & Dealers followed with 2.67m (11.5%).

BBC Two's Great British Menu cooked up 1.57m (8.1%) from 7pm. Springwatch and Coast Australia appealed to 1.93m (8.6%) and 1.54m (6.7%) respectively, before Episodes grabbed 790k (4.5%) from 10pm.

On Channel 4, new series Mary's Silver Service attracted 632k (2.9%) between 8pm and 9pm, and 24 Hours in A&E was watched by 1.71m (7.4%) afterwards.

Channel 5 aired The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door (535k/2.8%), Big Body Squad (657k/3%) and The McCanns and the Conman (752k/3.2%).

ITV3's Lewis topped the multichannels with 866k (3.8%) from 8pm. Elsewhere, two episodes of I Wanna Marry Harry entertained 256k (1.1%) and 220k (1.4%).

Sky1's 24: Live Another Day gripped 481k (2.1%) in the 9pm hour, while season finales of The Tomorrow People and Bates Motel drew 382k (1.6%) and 114k (0.5%) respectively on E4 and Universal.
