Champions League final pulls in 4.8m for ITV on Saturday

The Champions League final in Lisbon pulled in 4.8m last night (May 24), according to overnight data.

ITV's coverage of the match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, which saw Los Blancos seal a 4-1 win after extra time, averaged 4.84m (24.3%) from 7pm.

The game peaked just after 10pm with 6.72m (31.3%) during the second half of extra time, which saw Real's Gareth Bale score a crucial headed goal.

The match was shown on Sky Sports 1 as well, the programme taking 1.18m (6.1%) from 6pm.

On BBC One, Pointless Celebrities quizzed 4.5m (25.1%) from 7pm, with The National Lottery: In It to Win It following with 3.73m (18.6%).

The latest episode of Casualty treated 3.82m (17.8%) afterwards, and The Guess List appealed to 2.41m (11.2%).

BBC Two's The Mysterious Mr Webster drew in 452k (2.3%) between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, before coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show averaged 1.43m (6.7%).

Channel 4 aired repeats of The Restoration Man (617k/3.4%) and Grand Designs (928k/4.6%) before an airing of Twilight - Breaking Dawn: Part 1 was seen by 1.11m (5.6%).

Repeats of NCIS managed 491k (2.3%) and 634k (3.5%) for its 8.30pm and 9.30pm episodes respectively.

On the multichannels, ITV3's Doc Martin was watched by 780k (3.8%) from 8pm.
