Happy Valley tops ratings on Tuesday with 5.7m viewers

Happy Valley topped the ratings on Tuesday outside of soaps, overnight data reveals.

The BBC One drama climbed back by around 300,000 viewers from last week, being watched by 5.7 million (26.8%) at 9pm.

Later, Comedy Playhouse special Monks amused 1.8m (14.5%) at 10.35pm.

On BBC Two, the penultimate Big Allotment Challenge appealed to 2.0m (10.0%) at 8pm. Great British Menu also attracted 2.0m (10.0%) at 7.30pm, while Watermen gathered 1.5m (7.1%) at 9pm.

ITV's airing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix thrilled 2.2m (10.6%) at 7.30pm (431k/2.3% on +1).

On Channel 4, Embarrassing Bodies brought in 1.2m (6.0%) at 8pm (196k/0.9%). Mr Drew's School for Boys interested 1.2m (5.6%) at 9pm (386k/2.5%), followed by 16 Kids and Counting with 745k (4.9%) at 10pm (144k/1.9%).

On Channel 5, Ben Fogle's Animal Clinic attracted 806k (4.1%) at 8pm, followed by Behind Closed Doors with 871k (4.1%) at 9pm (113k/0.7%). The Mentalist continued with 845k (5.3%) at 10pm.

BBC Three's The Call Centre was seen by 672k (3.1%), while Sweat the Small Stuff entertained 369k (2.1%) at 10pm.
