Gary Barlow's chat with James Corden attracted over 3 million viewers on Bank Holiday Monday, according to overnight figures.
When Corden Met Barlow was seen by 3.4m (13.8%) at 9pm. Earlier, Bang Goes the Theory fascinated 2.6m (11.4%) at 7.30pm, while a repeat of Miranda amused 2.3m (9.2%) at 8.30pm. Match of the Day 2 scored 2.6m (21.3%) at 10.35pm.
ITV's Prey topped the ratings overall outside of soaps, dropping around 800,000 from last week to 4.9m (19.8%) at 9pm (197k/1.1% on +1).
On BBC Two, the Snooker World Championship Final brought in an average 3.5m (15.2%) at 7pm.
On Channel 4, Bear Grylls's new show The Island appealed to 1.9m (7.8%) at 9pm (286k/1.6%). Britain's Most Extreme Weather gathered 1.1m (4.4%) at 8pm, while Rupert Everett's Love for Sale was seen by 762k (4.4%) at 10pm (139k/1.7%).
Channel 5's The Woman with 40 Cats intrigued 796k (3.3%) at 8pm.
On BBC Four, Only Connect quizzed 750k (3.0%) at 8.30pm, followed by Hinterland with 568k (2.5%) at 9pm.
E4's Made in Chelsea continued with 676k (3.8%) at 10pm (145k/1.7%).
On Sky Atlantic, the latest Game of Thrones thrilled 810k (3.3%) at 9pm.
