Call the Midwife climbs back to 8.8 million on Sunday night

Call the Midwife continued its dominance of Sunday nights on BBC One, according to overnight data.

The period drama claimed back around 400,000 viewers from last week to 8.80 million (31.8%) at 8pm. Earlier, Countryfile attracted 7.19m (29.8%) at 7pm, while The Musketeers continued with 4.52m (19.4%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Top Gear held steady at 5.55m (20.1%) at 8pm, followed by Dragons' Den with 2.86m (12.4%) at 9pm.

ITV's Dancing on Ice rose by 700k from last week to 5.41m (23.8%) at 6.15pm (202k/0.8% on +1), while the results show brought in 4.49m (15.9%) at 8.30pm (260k/1.1%).

All-Star Family Fortunes entertained 4.47m (16.9%) at 7.45pm (185k/0.7%), while Mr Selfridge dipped to 4.42m (17.8%) at 9pm (288k/1.7%).

On Channel 4, a Time Team special interested 1.02m (3.7%) at 8pm (225k/1.0%). Comedy movie Bridesmaids amused 2.01m (10.4%) at 9pm (309k/2.5%).

Channel 5's broadcast of sci-fi thriller Daybreakers was seen by 473k (2.3%) at 9pm (101k/0.7%).

On ITV2, The Only Way Is Essex returned for a new series with 806k (4.6%) at 10pm (162k/1.7%).
