'Strictly Come Dancing' tops Sunday ratings

Strictly Come Dancing rose once again to top Sunday night's ratings for BBC One.

The celebrity competition climbed by nearly 200,000 from its last results show to 10.31 million viewers and a 39.9% audience share at 7.15pm.

On ITV, The X Factor results show was up by nearly 500k from last week to 8.94m (34.1%) at 8pm, with an added 283k (1.1%) on +1.

Downton Abbey's fourth series finale was up by around 150k to 9.64m (38.9%) at 9pm (337k/2.1% on +1). Earlier, Surprise, Surprise entertained 3.79m (14.3%) at 7pm (220k/0.8%).

Later on BBC One, The Paradise held steady at 4.72m (18.9%) at 8pm. Richard Hammond Builds a Universe interested 1.55m (6.0%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Africa 2013 appealed to 1.90 (7.2%) at 8pm, followed by The Great Continental Railway Journey with 1.56m (6.0%) at 9pm.

Channel 4's documentary Tutankhamun: The Mystery of the Burnt Mummy intrigued 1.64m (6.3%) at 8pm (332k/1.3%). Homeland thrilled 1.73m (6.7%) at 9pm (143k/0.8%).

Channel 5's broadcast of Rush Hour was seen by 857k (3.3%) at 7pm (230k/0.9%), while Nicolas Cage's Justice brought in 893k (4.0%) at 9pm (99k/0.7%).

On BBC Three, Family Guy amused 978k (4.2%) at 10pm. Sky1's The Moaning of Life with Karl Pilkington continued with 533k (2.1%) at 9pm.

ITV2's The Xtra Factor attracted 698k (2.7%) at 9pm (119k/0.6%). TOWIE was also seen by 698k (3.3%) at 10pm (177k/1.8%).
