Ratings: 'Top Gear' holds steady on Sunday with 4.7m

Top Gear held steady in the ratings on Sunday evening, according to overnight figures.

The motoring magazine show attracted 4.69 million viewers (21.3%) for the second episode of its latest series on BBC Two, despite a 15-minute delay due to the tennis at 8.15pm.

Griff Rhys Jones documentary Burma, My Father and the Forgotten Army followed with 1.87m (9.1%) at 9.15pm

On BBC One, Countryfile was the most-watched programme of the night with 5.03m (24.0%) at 8pm.

The White Queen's fourth episode lost 250,000 viewers from last week to 4m (18.4%) at 9pm.

Andy Murray's Wimbledon victory highlights on Today at Wimbledon scored 2.97m (21.0%) at 10.30pm, while the match itself was the highest-rated programme of 2013 so far earlier in the day.

On ITV, Tipping Point quizzed 3.10m (17.9%) at 7pm, followed by All-Star Mr & Mrs with 3.16m (15.1%) at 8pm (209k/1.0% on +1). A broadcast of Mamma Mia! brought in 2.16m (11.2%) at 9pm (153k/1.1%).

Channel 4's Time Team special interested 782k (3.7%) at 8pm (297k/1.4%). The latest episode of The Returned grabbed 994k (4.6%) at 9pm (177k/1.1%).

On Channel 5, Big Brother continued with 1.17m (5.4%) at 9pm (164k/0.9%). Denzel Washington movie The Siege thrilled 906k (6.9%) at 10pm.

ITV2's The Only Way is Essex entertained 654k (3.7%) at 10pm (166k/1.5%).
