Ratings roundup: 'Lewis' series six concludes with 5.4m

Lewis concluded with a respectable audience last night (Wednesday, June 6), overnight data indicates.

The Kevin Whately detective drama rose 200k week-on-week to an average of 5.01m (21.8%) between 8pm and 10pm, adding 352k (1.7%) on ITV1 +1.

These figures come despite facing an hour of BBC One's popular soap EastEnders. A new edition of DIY SOS: The Big Build interested 4.22m (18.2%) an hour later from 9pm.

The Inspector Morse sequel, recently commissioned for a final run, has underperformed away from its traditional Sunday night slot versus The Apprentice.

Big Brother took its usual post-launch plunge on Channel 5, drawing 1.42m (8%) at 10pm for its first highlights show. Big Brother's Bit on the Side followed with 612k (6.2%).

Dependable police import NCIS logged 1.04m (4.5%) in the 9pm hour, appealing to a further 261k (1.5%) on Channel 5 +1.

Over on BBC Two, The Great British Menu treated 1.7m (8.4%) at 7pm, then both Springwatch and The Secret History of Our Streets commanded identical audiences of 1.93m, taking a 3.3% and 3.4% share respectively.

Elsewhere, Secret Eaters attracted 1.16m (5.1%) to Channel 4 at 8pm (+1: 169k/0.7%), after which 1.76m (7.6%) watched 24 Hours in A&E at 9pm (+1: 590k/3.3%), and The Killing could only muster 377k (2.1%) an hour after that.

Overall, ITV1 led primetime with 21.9% (+1: 1.1%) against BBC One's 20.8%. BBC Two claimed third place with 7.6%, ahead of Channel 4's 4.7% (+1: 1.2%), and Channel 5's 4.3% (+1: 0.4%).
