Tricia's real problem was a failure to come to terms with the fact she is no longer as young and pretty as she used to be, even referring to her younger-self in the third person as "Tricia". A lot of women must have faced a similar problem? (That and a husband who didn't seem to give a damn). She at least had a best friend she could rely on.
The other case in the programme, that of 'Paul', was barely mentioned and played more like a house makeover.
