Friday ratings: Double eviction scores 2.5m for Channel 5

The evictions of Natalie Cassidy and Kirk Norcross on Celebrity Big Brother pulled in 2.5m for Channel 5 - 300k more than last week, when Natasha Giggs got the boot.

The show's second instalment grabbed 1.7m (12.6%), and sandwiched between them was Celebrity Wedding Planner on 976k (5.1%). Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side aired to 882k (9.1%) at 11.30pm.

On BBC One, Room 101 took 3.72m (15.5%) and Hustle thrilled 4.61m (18.9%), while on BBC Two Mastermind nabbed 2.14m (9.2%) from 8pm. On Hannibal's Trial intrigued 1.08m (4.5%) and Sicily Unpacked averaged 1.2m (4.9%) in the 9pm slot.

Safari Vet School brought in 2.61m (11.2%) for ITV1, but Law and Order: UK fared better with 4.73m (19.4%) at 9pm, in addition to a timeshift audience of 362k (1.9%). A late night screening of Jaws terrified 1.12m (10.4%).

Zooey Deschanel's New Girl was kooky enough for 1.17m (4.8%) at 8.30pm on Channel 4, scoring an extra 113k (0.5%) on +1. The Million Pound Drop followed at 9pm with 1.65m (7.1%) and a timeshift audience of 202k (1.2%).

ITV1 was the top channel during primetime, pulling in 22.7% to BBC One's 20.8%. BBC Two, Channel 5 and Channel 4 followed with 5.9%, 5.6% and 5.4% respectively.

After saturation advertising I tried watching the first episode of "New Girl". It was so bad it almost made "Sex in the City" look interesting!

I'd also like to know why this rubbish is on Channel 4's main station while the far superior Big Bang Theory is hidden away on E4? :roll:
