Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller's new Channel 4 pilot Felix and Murdo made a quiet impact on TV last night, overnight viewing figures indicate.
The Edwardian comedy, penned by
Men Behaving Badly's Simon Nye, amused 653k (3.9%) at 10.30pm.
Felix and Murdo rounded off a poor evening for C4, after
Jon Snow's 2011 logged 506k (2.1%) at 8pm, and 1.09m (4.6%) caught
The Untold Tommy Cooper at 9pm (+1: 217k/1.3%).
Great Expectations continued to perform strongly for BBC One with 6.04m (24.8%) for the second episode, while the drama's closest 9pm opponent -
It'll Be Alright on the Night with Griff Rhys Jones - attracted 4.69m (18.5%) to ITV1 (+1: 527k/2.8%).
Rhys Jones also appeared on BBC Two's
Three Men Go To New England alongside Dara O'Briain and Rory McGrath, which interested 1.93m (8.5%).
At 8pm, a midweek
Countryfile review led the hour for BBC One with 4.73m (19.3%), pipping
Top Gear's 4.38m (17.5%) between 8pm and 9.30pm for BBC Two. ITV1's
Ad of the Year mustered 2.91m (11.8%) and 174k (0.7%) on timeshift.
Meanwhile,
World's Strongest Man rumbled on with 879k (3.6%) for Channel 5. Movie
Ben-Hur followed with 887k (5.1%) between 9pm and 12.30am.
BBC One comfortably lead primetime with 20.8%, while ITV1 had 15.5% (+1: 1.1%). BBC Two finished in third place with 11.9%, followed by Channel 4's 3.8% (+1: 0.6%) and Channel 5's 3.4%.
Among the best-rated multichannel shows,
Peter Andre: My Life (9pm) began with 646k (2.5%) for ITV2.
