Ratings: 'Children in Need Rocks' delights 4.3m on BBC One

Children in Need Rocks entertained almost 4.3m viewers on Thursday evening, but was eclipsed by ITV1's I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, the latest audience data has shown.

Featuring performances from Lady GaGa, Coldplay, Elbow, Jessie J and JLS, Children in Need Rocks was enjoyed by 4.26m (16.8%) on BBC One between 8pm and 10pm.

However, the charity music extravaganza was outperformed by I'm a Celebrity, which fetched 7.71m (30%) on ITV1 in the 9pm hour and 462k (2.5%) on +1. Spinoff I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here Now! pulled in 783k (4.4%) on ITV2 from 10pm and 108k (1.1%) on +1.

Later on BBC One, Question Time took 2.51m (20.3%) from 10.45pm.

Life's Too Short, Ricky Gervais's new mockumentary starring Warwick Davis, slumped to 1.39m (5.4%) on BBC Two from 9.30pm, down 1m viewers on last week's premiere. The show also had 132k (0.5%) on BBC HD.

The second series of BBC Two comedy Rev also suffered, dipping to 1.63m (6.3%) from 9pm, down 660k week-on-week. Frank Skinner's Opinionated had 1.22m (5.9%) from 10pm.

Earlier on BBC Two, Great British Food Revival was enjoyed by 1.39m (6.3%) in the 7pm slot, and MasterChef: The Professionals served up 2.59m (10.5%) from 8pm and 113k (0.5%) on BBC HD.

On Channel 4, Beeny's Restoration Nightmare built 1.59m (6.4%) in the 8pm slot and 202k (0.8%) on +1. The Queen's Hidden Cousins shocked 2.85m (11.1%) and 415k (2.3%) on timeshift. The Joy of Teen Sex was seen by 1.12m (6.2%) on Channel 4 from 10pm and 139k (1.5%) on +1.

Channel 5's Highland Emergency mustered 606k (2.7%) from 7.30pm, before Fairground Attraction delighted 999k (4%) in the 8pm slot. The Mentalist welcomed 1.41m (5.5%) from 9pm, and NCIS had 737k (3.9%) from 10pm.

Overall, ITV1 won primetime with 24.6% (+1: 0.9%) against BBC One's 20.5%. BBC Two ranked in third with 7%, ahead of Channel 4 with 6.8% (+1: 0.8%) and Channel 5 with 3.8%.

Elsewhere, Aussie drama The Slap continued with 305k (1.7%) on BBC Four from 10pm, and Russell Howard's Good News appealed to 913k (5.6%) on BBC Three from 10.30pm.

The Big Bang Theory scored for E4, racking up 694k (2.9%) from 8pm, and 183k (0.7%) on +1.
