Ratings: Amy Winehouse tribute documentary seen by 1.1m

A documentary on the life of Amy Winehouse rated well last night, with a combined audience of nearly 1.1m, according to the latest overnight data.

Amy Winehouse: A Tribute pulled in 815k (4.1%) for ITV2 in the 9pm hour, adding a further 250k (1.5%) on +1 - representing the channel's best figures in the Friday night slot all year.

At the same time, ITV1's one-off documentary Charles and Diana: Wedding of the Century interested 2.99m (14.8%) and 149k on timeshift, The First World War from Above educated 1.44m (7.2%) on BBC Two, while Castle secured 1.16m (5.8%) for Channel 5.

BBC One's My Family dropped to 3.67m (16.3%), and a Miranda classic amused 3.33m (16.5%) at 9.30pm.

Meanwhile, 1.46m (7.3%) tuned in for 8 Out of 10 Cats at 9pm (+1: 256k), after which Alan Carr: Chatty Man entertained 1.49m (7.7%) at 9.30pm (+1: 309k) and Chris Moyles' Quiz Night continued with 1.16m (8.4%) at 10.30pm (+1: 215k).

Earlier at 8pm, Love Your Garden appealed to 2.71m (13.5%) for ITV1 (+1: 114k), ahead of rival Gardeners' World which had 1.82m (8.9%) for BBC Two.

Also in the hour, Come Dine with Me served up 1.04m (5.1%) for Channel 4 (+1: 274k), beating Danger: Diggers at Work's 838k (4.1%) for Channel 5.

Rob Brydon's chatshow, The Rob Brydon Show, held steady at 10pm with 1.42m (7.7%) for BBC Two, while a repeat of The Mentalist took 864k (5.1%) for Channel 5.

In another miserable 7pm hour for BBC One, The One Show (7pm) and The Good Cook (7.30pm) dipped to 2.81m (16.1%) and 2.46m (13.1%) respectively.

Overall, ITV1 led primetime with 21.6% (+1: 0.7%), ahead of BBC One's 18.2%, BBC Two's 7.1%, Channel 4's 5.8% (+1: 1%) and Channel 5's 4.8%.
