Children in Need attracts 7.69 million on Friday night

Children in Need was Friday's (November 13) highest-rated show, attracting an average audience of 7.69 million (35.8%).


Approximately 7.9m (37%) tuned in at 8.15pm to see Brucie return for a Strictly special with the cast of Call the Midwife.

The show peaked at 8.30pm, as 8.65m (39%) viewers tuned in to watch an incredible Star Wars sketch featuring the likes of Warwick Davis, Martin Freeman and Sir Alan Sugar.

The show resumed on BBC Two at 10pm, attracting 2.86m (15.3%). It would then continue late into the night on BBC One, dropping to 1.73 million (22%).

BBC Two's evening began with Rick Stein: From Venice to Istanbul, which managed to attract 1.25m (6.4%) at 7pm. Mastermind continued with 1.24m (5.8%) at 8pm, An Island Parish: Falklands played to 1.19m (5.4%) at 8.30pm and Great Continental Railway Journeys rounded things off with 1.47m (6.6%) at 9pm.

Over on ITV, an average audience of 3.16m (14.7%) tuned in to watch the international friendly between Spain and England.

As ever, Gogglebox was Channel 4's most watched show of the evening . An average crowd of 2.74m (12.3%) tuned in at 9pm.

Earlier, Unreported World attracted 480k (2.4%) at 7.30pm, Grand Designs had 920k (4.3%) and later, Alan Carr's Chatty Man entertained 920k (5.2%).

Approximately 421k (2.2%) tune into Secrets of St Paul's Cathedral at 7pm, while 731k (3.4%) watched Ice Road Truckers at 8pm.

NCIS: New Orleans attracted 574k (2.6%) at 9pm, NCIS managed to reel in 615k (3.4%) at 10pm and NCIS: Los Angeles saw 315k (2.7%) tune in.​
