Ben Whishaw's new thriller London Spy debuted with over 2 million viewers on Monday night (November 9).
According to overnight data, an audience of 2.5m (11.8%) tuned in at 9pm, as Spectre star Whishaw got caught up in a web of espionage in the BBC Two drama's first episode.
Elsewhere on the channel, Only Connect interested 1.82m (8.4%) at 7.30pm, while 2.75m (12.1%) tuned in for University Challenge at 8pm. Simply Nigella continued with 2.38m (10.6%) at 8.30pm.
Over on BBC One, 4.4m (21.9%) tuned in at 7pm to see Alan Bennett's appearance on The One Show, and 3.1m (13.7%) joined the channel at 8.30pm for Panorama .
Hugh's War on Waste continued with 4.62m (21.8%) at 9pm - up over a million week-on-week.
On Channel 4, SAS: Who Dares Wins was up slightly on last week with 1.48m (7%) at 9pm (223k/1.5% on +1), followed by 512k (3.6%) for Fargo at 10pm.
ITV's Countrywise returned to 2.3m (10.3% ) at 8pm, while 1.85m (9.8%) were entertained by The Hangover at 9pm (170k/1.1% on +1).
Channel 5's Police Interceptors continued with 1.01m (4.5% ) at 8pm, and 1.25m (5.9% ) joined the broadcaster for On Benefits at 9pm.
The Walking Dead grabbed an audience of 810k (3.8%) this week on FOX, while Made in Chelsea aired to 492k (1.6%) on E4 in the same 9pm timeslot.
