Strictly Come Dancing reached 10 million viewers with last night's results show and hit a series high, according to overnight figures.
BBC One's reliable hit entertained 10.43 million (43%) from 7.15pm, comfortably topping the ratings.
Meanwhile, ITV's The X Factor averaged 6.98 million (28.7%) from 8pm, with an extra 192k (0.8%) on timeshift. Downton Abbey closed out its series with 8.45 million (37.3%) and 424k (2.8%) on +1.
Earlier in the evening, the latest episode of Jekyll and Hyde drew 2.07 million (8.8%).
Elsewhere on BBC One, Countryfile attracted 7.08 million (34.2%), and Antiques Roadshow and The Hunt managed 6.57 million (27.1%) and 4.46 million (18.6%) respectively.
Over on Channel 4, Great Canal Journeys logged 1.46 million (6%) in the 8pm hour, before US drama Homeland appealed to 981k (4.1%).
