The Big Bang Theory's big wedding episode brought in over a million viewers on E4 on Thursday night.
The US comedy's season nine premiere was easily the most-watched multichannel show, attracting an average overnight audience of 1.52m (6.9%) at 8.30pm (391,000/1.9% on +1). Drifters followed with 432k (2.1%) at 9pm (103k/0.6%).
On BBC One, Watchdog appealed to 3.55m (16.7%) at 8pm, followed by Frances de la Tour's Who Do You Think You Are? with 3.20m (15.8%) at 9pm.
BBC Two's new epic series The Last Kingdom thrilled 2.02m (10.0%) at 9pm, while Russell Howard's Good News returned with 1.07m (6.6%) at 10pm.
On ITV, Unforgiven topped the night overall outside soaps with 3.78m (18.6%) at 9pm (210k/1.5%).
Channel 4's Amazing Spaces interested 1.34m (6.3%) at 8pm (209k/1.0%), followed by documentary My Son the Jihadi with 1.27m (6.2%) at 9pm (164k/1.1%) and First Dates with 1.13m (7.9%) at 10pm (167k/2.1%).
