The Interceptor launched with over 3 million viewers on Wednesday evening (June 10), overnight data reveals.
The new BBC One crime drama starring OT Fagbenle attracted an average audience of 3.74m (18.6%) at 9pm. Earlier, DIY SOS topped the night overall with 4.38m (24.1%) at 8pm.
BBC Two's Springwatch appealed to 2.00m (11.0%) at 8pm, followed by new documentary series Napoleon with 1.11m (6.0%) at 9pm.
On ITV, The Cube entertained 2.66m (14.6%) at 8pm, with an added 123,000 (0.6%) on +1. Long Lost Family brought in 3.66m (18.7%) at 9pm (182k/1.2% on +1).
Channel 4's Auction House intrigued 937k (5.2%) at 8pm (169k/0.8%), while 24 Hours in A&E was seen by 1.63m (8.1%) at 9pm (331k/2.2%).
On Channel 5, Animals Make You Laugh Out Loud tickled 550k (3.1%) at 8pm, followed by Caught on Camera with 587k (2.9%) at 9pm and the latest Big Brother with 1.01m (6.5%) at 10pm.
Sky1's Strike Back continued to thrill 289k (1.4%) at 9pm, while ITV2's Love Island was seen by 351k (1.7%) at 9pm.
