Countryfile tops Sunday ratings with 6.3 million viewers

Countryfile was the most watched programme on Sunday (May 17), according to overnight data.

The long-running BBC One show gathered 6.27m (33.1%) at 7pm, while Antiques Roadshow appealed to 5.82m (27.2%) at 8pm. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell followed with 4.53m (20.5%) at 9pm.

Over on BBC Two, Demolition brought in 1.61m (7.5%) at 8pm, while The Detectives intrigued 1.40m (6.3%) at 9pm.

ITV's Celebrity Squares continued with 1.63m (8.5%) at 7.15pm (43k/0.2% on +1), before Sunday Night at the Palladium entertained 3.37m (15.7%) at 8pm (197k/0.9%). Home Fires dipped slightly to 4.53m (20.6%) at 9pm (236k/1.6%).

On Channel 4, For The Love of Cars was seen by 1.03m at 8pm (4.8%), and Grayson Perry's Dream House inspired 870k (3.9%) at 9pm (132k/0.9%).

Big Brother's latest episode averaged 1.02m (4.6%) for Channel 5 at 9pm (104k/0.7%), while The Rock appealed to 537k (5.3%) at 10pm (34k/0.7%).
