BBC One's evening began with 3.75 million (22.2%) for The One Show at 7pm, followed by 3.07 million (16.8%) for A Question of Sport at 7.30pm.
Hosted by Stephen Mangan, Have I Got News for You continued with 4.74 million (23.6%) viewers at 9pm, which was up on last week's average of 4.61 million.
Avengers: Age of Ultron cast members Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen helped The Graham Norton Show secure ratings of 2.75 million (23.1%) at 10.35pm.
Over on ITV, Weekend Escapes with Warwick Davis was seen by 2.27 million (11.4%) at 8pm, while Slow Train Through Africa with Griff Rhys Jones entertained 2.21 million (10.7%) at 9pm.
BBC Two's Live Snooker: The World Championship coverage attracted an average audience of 820k (4.6%) at 7pm. The evening continued with 1.64 million (8.3%) for An Island Parish: Falklands and an evening high of 1.8 million (8.4%) for Gardeners' World at 8.30pm.
The 9pm showing of Sex and the Church was seen by 730k (3.5%), while The Clare Balding Show rounded things off with 750k (4.6%) at 10pm.
An average audience of 2.77 million (13.5%) tuned in to watch Gogglebox on Channel 4 at 9pm, while a further 558k (3.7%) watched on Channel 4+1.
It was sandwiched between Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which drew respective audiences of 610k (3.1%) and 1.16 million (7.8%).
Secrets of Great British Castles was seen by 692k (3.4%) at 8pm on Channel 5. It was followed by 856k (4.1%) for NCIS: New Orleans at 9pm and 827k (5.4%) for NCIS at 10pm.
