Code of a Killer tops Easter Monday ratings with 5 million

John Simm and David Threlfall's Code of a Killer topped the Easter Monday (April 6) ratings, according to overnight figures.

The first instalment of the real-life drama brought in 5.0m (23.9%) for ITV at 9pm, with a further 247,000 (1.8%) tuning in on ITV+1. Earlier, More Tales From Northumberland was seen by 3.13m (13.7%) at 8pm (142k/0.6% on +1).

On BBC One, a holiday showing of Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death attracted 2.91m (14.3%) at 7.30pm, while MasterChef continued with 4.40m (19.2%) at 8.30pm. A Mrs Brown's Boys repeat amused 3.40m (15.8%) at 9.30pm.

On BBC Two, Antiques Roadshow aired to 1.52m (8.1%) at 7pm, while Food and Drink interested 1.37m (6.7%) at 7.30pm. University Challenge continued with 2.56m (11.3%) at 8pm.

Later, Morecambe and Wise entertained 1.44m (6.3%) at 8.30pm, before Kew on a Plate brought in 1.05m (5.2%) at 9.30pm.

Channel 4's The Secret Life of Four-Year-Olds intrigued 670k (3.1%) at 7.30pm (119k/0.5%), before Travel Man: 48 Hours in Istanbul informed 1.07m (4.6%) at 8.30pm (106k/0.5%).

My Big Fat Gypsy Grand National averaged 1.38m (6.2%) at 9pm (218k/1.4%), while Raised By Wolves continued with 620k (3.4%) at 10pm (144k/1.6%).

Over on Channel 5, Police Interceptors thrilled 833k (3.6%) at 8pm (64k/0.3%). Gotham followed with 742k (3.3%) at 9pm (123k/0.8%), and Person of Interest was seen by 543k (3.3%) at 10pm (88k/1.0%).
