Who Do You Think You Are? returned to top the ratings outside soaps on Thursday, overnight data reveals.
Julie Walters's turn on the BBC One ancestry series was around 300,000 down on last year's opener, attracting 4.60 million (23.1%) at 9pm. Earlier, Scrappers brought in 3.28m (18.0%) at 8.30pm.
On BBC Two, Natural World was seen by 1.22m (6.5%) at 8pm, followed by The Honourable Woman with 1.49m (7.5%) at 9pm.
ITV's Harbour Lives appealed to 2.05m (10.9%) at 8.30pm (154k/0.8% on +1), while Kids with Cameras intrigued 1.37m (6.9%) at 9pm (146k/0.9%).
On Channel 4, Amazing Spaces attracted 1.31m (6.9%) at 8pm (277k/1.4%), followed by Embarrassing Bodies with 1.29m (6.5%) at 9pm (219k/1.4%).
Channel 5's Countdown to Murder fascinated 610k (3.2%) at 8pm. Autopsy's special on Brittany Murphy was seen by 843k (4.2%) at 9pm (140k/0.9%), and Big Brother continued with 1.13m (7.0%) at 10pm.
On BBC Three, the new series of Cuckoo with Taylor Lautner amused 655k (3.8%) at 10pm, followed by new comedy Siblings with 436k (3.0%) at 10.30pm.
