Geordie Shore returns with over 500,000 on MTV

Geordie Shore returned with over 500,000 viewers on Tuesday, overnight data reveals.

The MTV reality show dipped by around 300k from the last series launch, attracting 516k (3.2%) at 10pm.

BBC One's Crimewatch topped the ratings outside of soaps overall with 3.79m (19.6%) at 9pm.

On BBC Two, Hive Alive brought in 1.19m (6.6%) at 8pm, followed by Coast with 1.69m (8.8%) at 9pm.

ITV's Love Your Garden appealed to 2.44m (13.5%) at 8pm (198k/1.0% on +1), while a repeat of 56 Up was seen by 1.91m (10.0%) at 9pm (177k/1.1%).

On Channel 4, Fill Your House for Free interested 1.03m (5.7%) at 8pm (251k/1.3%), followed by Undercover Boss with 1.13m (5.8%) at 9pm (242/1.5%) and Utopia with 389k (2.4%) at 10pm.

Channel 5's Dog Rescuers attracted 1.17m (6.6%) at 8pm, while CSI thrilled 1.23m (6.4%) at 9pm (120k/0.7%). Big Brother continued with 1.09m (6.6%) at 10pm (102k/1.1%).
