John Simm's drama 'Prey' tops Monday ratings

ITV's new series Prey topped the ratings outside of soaps on Monday, according to overnight data.

John Simm's drama was seen by an average of 5.7 million (25.2%) at 9pm, with an added 562,000 (2.5%) on +1. Earlier, new series Gino's Italian Escape appealed to 2.7m (12.3%) at 8pm (263k/1.2% on +1).

On BBC One, Bang Goes the Theory educated 2.8m (13.7%) at 7.30pm, while Panorama brought in 2.3m (10.2%) at 8.30pm. Crimewatch was seen by 3.3m (14.5%) at 9pm.

BBC Two's World Snooker Championship coverage scored 1.1m (5.5%) at 7pm, followed by Restaurant Wars with 1.1m (5.1%) at 8pm. The final episode of Rev amused 1.1m (5.8%) at 10pm.

On Channel 4, Britain's Most Extreme Weather intrigued 1.5m (6.4%) at 8pm (165k/0.7%). One Born Every Minute attracted 1.7m (7.6%) at 9pm (259k/1.6%) and Rupert Everett's Love for Sale gathered 987k (6.1%) at 10pm (156k/1.9%).

Channel 5's Secret History of UFOs fascinated 856k (3.8%) at 9pm, followed by Aliens: Are We Alone? with 765k (4.7%) at 10pm.

BBC Three documentary My Brother the Terrorist was seen by 338k (1.5%) at 9pm. On BBC Four, Only Connect puzzled 819k (3.6%) at 8.30pm, followed by new Welsh drama Hinterland with 700k (3.3%) at 9pm.

E4's Made in Chelsea entertained 669k (4.1%) at 10pm (124k/1.5%).

On Sky Atlantic, the latest episode of Game of Thrones thrilled 831k (3.8%) at 9pm.
