The 7.39 rose in the ratings for its concluding episode on Tuesday, according to overnight figures.

Sheridan Smith and David Morrissey's romantic drama gained over 100,000 viewers from Monday's episode, attracting 5.77 million (23.9%) at 9pm.

Later, Terry Wogan's Secrets of the Bodyclock appealed to 2.59m (20.1%) at 10.35pm.

Channel 4's new series The Taste featuring Nigella Lawson launched with 1.61m (6.7%) at 9pm (210k/1.2% on +1). Location, Location, Location brought in 2.39m (10.1%) at 8pm (235k/1.0%).

On BBC Two, Stargazing Live opened to 2.77m (11.7%) at 8pm, followed by Stargazing Live: Back To Earth with 1.74m (7.1%) at 9pm. Nick Robinson's Truth About Immigration interested 1.37m (6.3%).

ITV's River Monsters attracted 2.66m (11.7%) at 8pm (121k/0.5%), followed by Weight Loss Ward with 2.28m (9.7%) at 9pm (144k/0.6%). The Lying Game: Crimes That Fooled Britain fascinated 2.40m (9.9%) at 10pm (179k/1.0%).

Channel 5's Gibraltar: Britain in the Sun was seen by 1.13m (4.8%) at 8pm, while Celebrity Big Brother gathered 2.05m (8.5%) at 9pm (257k/1.5%). Autopsy: Michael Jackson's Final Hours brought in 1.47m (8.3%) at 10pm (160k/1.7%).

ITV3's Midsomer Murders topped the multichannels with 1.02m (4.3%) at 8pm.
