British Comedy Awards amuses 1.3 million on Thursday

The British Comedy Awards was down in the ratings from last year, according to overnight figures.

Channel 4's broadcast of the annual ceremony amused 1.34 million viewers (7.1%) at 9pm (140,000/1.1% on +1). This is down 500k from last year's event.

Earlier, George Clarke's Amazing Spaces attracted 1.26m (5.7%) at 8pm (233k/1.1%).

On BBC One, Keeping Britain Safe 24/7 interested 2.51m (11.4%) at 8pm. Gregg Wallace's Christmas Supermarket Secrets topped the evening overall with 4.01m (18.5%) at 9pm. A Nelson Mandela special of Question Time gathered 1.65m (14.3%) at 10.35pm.

BBC Two's MasterChef: The Professionals final brought in an impressive 3.68m (16.6%) at 8pm. Silent War continued with 1.16m (5.4%) at 9pm.

ITV's You've Been Framed tickled 2.30m (10.3%) at 8pm, followed by Susan Boyle's There's Something About Susan with 3.19m (14.7%) at 9pm (239k/1.4%).

On Channel 5, documentary Mummy's Little Murderer intrigued 1.37m (6.3%) at 9pm (158k/0.9%), followed by the latest Person of Interest with 859k (5.1%) at 10pm.

ITV2's Celebrity Juice entertained a high 1.11m (6.6%) at 10pm (261k/2.8%), while E4's Big Bang Theory amused 1.27m (5.7%) at 8.30pm (358k/1.7%).
