David Tennant's Escape Artist dropped nearly a million viewers on Tuesday night, according to overnight data.
The BBC One drama was still the most-watched show outside of soaps and news, dipping to 4.11 million (18.2%) at 9pm.
On BBC Two, MasterChef: The Professionals attracted 2.90m (12.8%) at 8pm, while Iceland Foods continued with 2.21m (9.8%) at 9pm.
ITV's Champions League coverage of Manchester United's 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad scored 4.00m (17.9%) at 7.30pm.
On Channel 4, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners interested 1.87m (8.3%) at 8pm (260k/1.1% on +1). Embarrassing Bodies appealed to 1.37m (6.1%) at 9pm (224k/1.4%). Masters of Sex continued with 677k (4.4%) at 10pm (133k/1.7%).
Channel 5's The Mentalist thrilled 1.18m (5.2%) at 9pm (172k/1.1%), while Castle brought in 810k (4.9%) at 10pm (97k/1.1%).
On BBC Three, Don't Tell the Bride gathered 777k (3.4%) at 9pm.
