Ratings: 'Whitechapel' stalls slightly on Wednesday evening

Whitechapel lost around 180,000 viewers for its penultimate episode on Wednesday evening, according to overnight data.

The ITV drama was seen by 3.05 million (14.6%) at 9pm (224k/1.5% on +1). Big Star's Little Star also dipped to 3.66m (17.3%) at 8pm (207k/1.0%).

On BBC One, Watchdog came out on top overall outside of soaps to 4.13m (19.5%) at 8pm. New seasonal documentary The Great British Year interested 3.70m (17.7%) at 9pm. Father Figure amused 1.27m (10.4%) at 10.35pm.

BBC Two's The House That 100k Built appealed to 1.87m (8.9%) at 8pm, followed by Science Britannica with 1.26m (6.0%) at 9pm.

Channel 4's Three Day Nanny brought in 1.01m (4.8%) at 8pm (143k/0.7%), while Grand Designs gathered 2.11m (10.1%) at 9pm (343k/2.3%). Gogglebox entertained 1.27m (8.0%) at 10pm (92k/1.1%).

On Channel 5, the latest NCIS thrilled 1.08m (5.2%) at 9pm, followed by Wentworth with 818k (5.3%) at 10pm.

BBC Three's Family Guy topped the multichannels with 704k (9.3%) at 11.30pm.
