Scott & Bailey ending after its current fifth series, ITV confirms

Just two more outings for Rachel and Janet... ever.
The current series of ITV's Scott & Bailey will be its last.
The hit cop show – starring Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp – will air its final episode on Wednesday, April 27 at 9pm.
In a statement, ITV said that it was a creative choice on the part of the Scott & Bailey team to wrap up the series with the latest 3-parter.
"It's a mutually agreed decision by all parties," said a spokesperson. "We totally respect that decision."
Scott & Bailey has aired five series on ITV since it launched in 2011.
Based on an original idea by Jones and co-star Sally Lindsay, the BAFTA-nominated drama stars Jones as partners DI Rachel Bailey and Sharp as DC Janet Scott.
Episode 2 of their final outing - which sees the pair explore the sinister world of murder fetishists and the 'dark web' - airs this Wednesday (April 20) at 9pm on ITV.
