The Apprentice interviews attract 5.6m on Wednesday

The Apprentice​ bounced back in the ratings as the candidates entered the dreaded interview stage on Wednesday night.

The BBC One show attracted an average overnight audience of 5.68 million (26.5%) at 9pm. You're Fired!​ was seen by 1.85m (10.3%) at 10pm on BBC Two.

What turned out to be the final ever Cuffs​ brought in 3.16m (15.6%) earlier at 8pm.

On BBC Two, MasterChef: The Professionals​ rumbled on with 2.93m (14.4%) at 8pm, followed by harrowing documentary Love You To Death​ with 1.12m (5.2%) at 9pm.

ITV's second episode of Prey​ thrilled 2.45m (11.5%) at 9pm (133,000/0.9% on +1), while You Saw Them Here First​ entertained 2.47m (12.2%) at 8pm (126k/0.6%).

On Channel 4, the final ever Peep Show​ amused 557k (3.1%) at 9pm (116k/1.2%). Earlier, Supervet​ appealed to 1.92m (9.5%) at 8pm (117k/0.5%), followed by 24 Hours in A&E​ with 1.50m (7.0%) at 9pm (243k/1.5%).

ITVBe's TOWIE​ Christmas special - including a tribute to Nanny Pat - was seen by 514k (3.2%) at 10pm.​
