The second BBC Music Awards didn't set the ratings alight on Thursday, losing around 1.4 million from last year.
Adele's big night (although she wasn't there) entertained an average overnight audience of 2.53m (12.8%) at 8pm on BBC One.
On BBC Two, MasterChef: The Professionals brought in 2.74m (13.3%) at 8pm, followed by The Last Kingdom with 1.65m (8.7%) at 9pm.
ITV's For the Love of Dogs with Paul O'Grady topped the night overall outside soaps with 4.22m (20.1%) at 8.30pm (183k/1.0% on +1).
On Channel 4, Secret Life of 6-Year-Olds fascinated 1.31m (6.4%) at 8pm (178k/0.9%), followed by 18 Kids and Counting with 1.71m (8.3%) at 9pm (202k/1.4%).
E4's latest episode of The Big Bang Theory tickled 1.24m (5.9%) at 8.30pm (252k/1.3%), while Sky 1's Supergirl attracted 275k (1.3%) at 8pm.
