Doc Martin was the TV ratings champion on Monday night once again for ITV, attracting an average overnight audience of 5.83 million (27.2%) at 9pm (248,000/1.7% on +1).
BBC One's highlight outside of soaps was Traffic Cops, which brought in 2.46m (11.4%) at 9pm.
On Channel 4, Fargo returned for its prequel second season, thrilling 672k (4.7%) at 10pm. On Channel 5, Benefits fascinated 1.12m (5.2%) at 9pm (160k/1.1%).
BBC Three's new series of Stacey Dooley Investigates intrigued 620k (2.9%), while Made in Chelsea returned for a new series with 401k (1.9%) at 9pm on E4. This is lower than its previous main series opener, but higher than its LA spinoff.
On Sky 1, The Muppets debuted with 371k (1.7%) at 8pm, followed by the return of Modern Family with 455k (2.1%) at 8.30pm.
On FOX UK, The Walking Dead continued to bring in impressive figures for a multichannel, as 725k (3.4%) were shocked at 9pm.
