New Tricks tops Tuesday viewing with 5.3 milion

New Tricks showed that there's still life in the old dog yet, rising by around 400,000 viewers from last week to top Tuesday, overnight data reveals.



The BBC One crime drama attracted an average of 5.39 million (25.7%) at 9pm, topping the night overall outside soaps.

On BBC Two, Hairy Bikers' Northern Exposure appealed to 2.40m (11.9%) at 8pm, followed by India: Nature's Wonderland with 2.01m (9.6%) at 9pm.

ITV's Dinosaur Britain intrigued 1.57m (7.9%) at 8pm (127k/0.6% on +1), while Cash in Hand: Payday Loans brought in 1.28m (6.1%) at 9pm.

On Channel 4, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners fascinated 1.42m (7.1%) at 8pm (204k/1.0%), while Educating Cardiff remained strong for its second episode with 1.50m (7.2%) at 9pm (240k/1.5%). How the Rich Get Hitched was seen by 982k (6.4%) at 10pm (183k/2.3%).

Channel 5's I Want That Wedding interested 541k (2.7%) at 8pm, followed by the latest Celebrity Big Brother with 1.44m (6.9%) at 9pm (180k/1.2%). The Hotel Inspector Returns brought in 716k (4.6%) at 10pm.

On MTV, Ex on the Beach continued to shock with 314k (2.0%) at 10pm.

Sadly not a patch on the earlier series. The BBC ought have put this out of its misery when James Bolam bailed out.
